The Humane Society of Bay County relies upon fundraisers and donations to continue operation.  Throughout the year we offer many exciting events.  You can also check our event calendar.

All of your donations go towards our many programs, including:

• Pet Awareness Programs in conjunction with The Bay City Times  to feature weekly pet available for adoption
• Animal Control donations for vaccinations, medications, and bedding
• Animal Care and Protection information
• Education
• Spay/neuter rebates
• Animal events, therapy companions, straw giveaways
• Temporary housing and care for pets of domestic violence situations
• Monthly newsletter to educate area residents
• Website to share resource information with everyone
• Scholarship for Bay County students in animal-related career paths
• Special interest projects (examples of past projects, Dog Park, Fire Masks, New Shelter)

Our annual fundraisers include the following:

Agility – a USDAA dog match that tests teamwork between a human and a dog.  This fun event for the Humane Society and is scheduled for Fall 2008..

Dogs & Us Pet Walk – a fun morning walking your dog along the Rail Trail or the County Fairgrounds while raising money for the Humane Society.

Santa Photos  – pet pictures with Santa Claus

Annual Rummage Sale  –  an opportunity to get rid of your slightly used items each spring and raise money for a worthy cause.

Recycle Ink Cartridges and Cell Phones - Your used ink cartridges and discarded cell phones can be dropped off at Animal Control or given to any board member. The Humane Society receives between $1 - $12 for each item, depending on type and manufacturer.

The Humane Society of Bay County is an affiliate of Barnes & Noble online booksellers.  When you access their site to purchase books, DVDs, music, and more a portion of your sale is donated to our worthy cause. You do not pay any additional fees/costs for accessing their site through ours.
